Sick Kitty No More!

While B was away, my boys suddenly started acting up. They were purr-fectly fine right until the moment B left for the airport. The very next day I noticed a difference in my boys Benji and Chubbs. Phoebe was in her own little world as usual, keeping to herself and eating normally. But the boys really looked depressed and after three days of B's departure, they started throwing up too!

Naturally I panicked for I was home alone and God forbid something happens to my fluffy cats I would definitely want B to be around to help me get through it. So I did a little research online and I came across Petmeds, a superb pet blog I found extremely informative, entertaining and most importantly it managed to assuage my fears with a terrific article detailing possible reasons for pet vomiting and what pet owners can do to alleviate the condition. As advised, I stopped feeding the boys solid food for 24 hours to monitor their condition. The site listed many possible conditions that caused the vomiting ranging from a simple viral or bacterial digestive upset to dietary allergies and of course the more common reason of hairballs. My cats are so fluffy so when they groom themselves, they tend to lick and swallow their stray fur.

If symptoms worsen and my cats appear to be weaker, I would have no choice but to take my kitties to the vet. Fortunately, the boys stopped puking after 24 hours and within the next few days, their appetite returned and they were back to their mischievous selves! Smileys

By the time B arrived home, there was no sign of them being depressed or sick. In fact, they behaved
purr-fectly and were more than happy to stay quietly inside their kitty-condo the whole day waiting for B to return. I guess it was the hairball problem after all but I'm still keeping a close eye on my cats just in case they decide to act up again. For now the whole house is happy and content especially since we have our B home with us now. Thank you Pet Meds for helping me in my time of need! Smileys
