Flood in My Kitchen!

Something happened at home last week, which got me seriously considering upgrading my home insurance to something more comprehensive. I was inside my office working on some stuff when B who was cleaning the sink frantically called to me for help from the kitchen. I'm not exactly sure what happened but he later told me while wiping the area around the kitchen tap, it somehow broke and water came gushing out!
hah

The whole kitchen floor was flooded as water came pouring out like there was no tomorrow! My cats were curious to see the chaos going on in the kitchen so I hurriedly put them inside their kitty condo. They weren't happy about it but I couldn't risk them playing in the water and me falling over them since the whole kitchen was all wet and slippery!

There was no way to turn off the tap since it already broke so while B tried his best to hold down the water using whatever was nearby, I had to rush down to get help from our security. The main tap had to be turned off from the main source, which we residents have no access to so we had to wait for another 20 minutes before the maintenance guy arrived to shut the main water supply to my unit! tension

To make a long story short, we ended up with a very wet kitchen that night and RM300 poorer the next day after the plumber arrived to fix the mess. Now, if I had a more comprehensive home insurance, something from House Insurance Ireland perhaps; I could have enjoyed additional coverage which includes loss or damage due to flood, burst pipes and so on. Unfortunately for me, our home insurance just covers the basic home aspects, which definitely does not include a burst pipe in our kitchen.

I do a lot of insurance translation for my clients and it's great to see more insurance policies are diversified to include almost all major losses and accidents. PIBA SURE for instance comprises a network of independent and reliable insurance brokers. All members are regulated by the Financial Regulator and hold membership in the Professional Insurance Brokers Association (PIBA).

Offering you competitively priced products from top Home and Car Insurance Companies in Ireland, PIBA SURE insures you and your needs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Travel insurance is also available if that is what you're looking for.

All this insurance talk reminds me that my health policy is due for renewal next month. I might as well look into a home insurance upgrade from my current insurer. You know what they say, once beaten twice shy. So it's better to be safe than sorry; starting with greater coverage for my home sweet home! peluk

Marketing Burst!

If my clients refuse to come to me, then I'll come to them!
peluk

Okay, I admit I've not been very friendly to my clients lately. It's been ages since I sent them my usual hello-remember-me flyer. I usually do this at the end of every year but last year I neglected to prepare my brochure and by the time I actually remembered, it was too late to wish them a happy new year. malu

So right now I am working on a new marketing brochure. I need to bring attention to my freelance copywriting and translation services. With the recession taking place, even my home business is affected. Since the second quarter of the year I noticed that the number of jobs I receive from my regular or new clients has slowed down. A friend of mine working in an advertising agency told me her agency is facing similar fate. Pitching for jobs is still ongoing but actual projects received have dwindled by more than half. So business-wise, it's been pretty quiet for me.

Currently I'm contemplating on the best concept for my marketing burst and I've already updated my marketing list. I have a list of all my clients but some of them are no longer in operation so a fresh new list is what I need. My first batch of brochures will go out to them. I'm also keen to secure new clients and will be looking into other outlets including consumer mailing lists to advertise my business. callme

The List Company for instance provides effective e-mail Marketing Solutions for profitable e-mail campaigns; allowing you to send fully customized marketing messages to over 40 million consumers in their massive database. Whether it's mass marketing or a comfortable niche audience, the company's list brokers make it their business to get you heard and bring business your way. What's more, you will also enjoy the services of a professional internet solutions team to help customize a program that suits your needs. Your marketing message is guaranteed delivered in a prompt, effective and proper manner. tepuktangan

I'm definitely going to check this out. If it works the way it should, what a great way to get my home business noticed. Here's to new business and more money for me and my cats of course!
