Meow Mags Please!

I no longer subscribe to magazines but I fondly remember the good old times when I first started subscribing to my favourite fashion magazines like Cosmo and Elle during my university days. My schedule as a student was less hectic so after a day of studying and working in uni, and I had ample time to pore over magazine after magazine when I got home. It was also very cheap to subscribe to magazines back then so the decision to jump into the magazine bandwagon was happily made with ease.

I collected quite a few titles too, which weren’t available here in Malaysia and when my boxes arrived from the States two years later when I returned home to KL, I was ecstatic to have my collection with me! It was a hefty price to bring them home with me but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do sometimes!

Nowadays, I don’t really buy magazines anymore unless it’s one of those Hollywood entertainment magazines, which I love and a few local celebrity magazines. Other than that, I usually get my information and need to browse through a magazine, online. I love reading about Hollywood celebrities so I have quite a list of dazzling celebrity blogs, which I follow.

Recently however, I came across an awesome site offering Magazine Subscriptions at incredible discounts so once again I am enticed to start collecting magazines. I really should not because I don’t want to end up being a magazine hoarder. If you’ve seen an episode of Hoarders, you will definitely share the same sentiments as yours truly and will try to avoid compulsive shopping whenever possible!

Having said that, I figured a title or two won’t hurt especially since I discovered some really cool cat magazines online! Cat magazines don’t come by very often, perhaps due to the niche market it caters too. But for cat lovers like me, I’m certain we wouldn’t mind spending on and owning a collection of cat magazines. If not for the very useful information contained within, cat magazines almost always offer awesome cat photos too, which is mostly why I am enticed! Oh, I also collect TV soap magazines and these I usually get when travelling abroad. If you don’t already know, I am an ardent fan of Bold and Beautiful and I love reading stories about the Forrester clan! This site I discovered however does not seem to offer TV Soap magazines unless I missed it while browsing through their endless categories.

With so many categories to go through and loads of great discounts to take advantage of, I’m definitely checking in with this site again later. Tonight however, I am going to be very busy preparing for the Eid Mubarak celebration tomorrow. I would like to take this post to wish all my friends celebrating this festival a wonderful Aidilfitri with your family and loved ones. Busy Buying Music

Searching for the right song to feature on Music Monday here at my blog can be a daunting task sometimes. Yes there are so many songs to choose from but for me, I gotta choose one that speaks to my heart. They don’t necessarily have to be songs from top music charts but they at least have to call out to my music sense the moment I first listen to it. I guess I’m fussy that way but that’s just the perfectionist in me, always trying to pick the best of the best or one that is almost perfect … by my standards at least.

If you noticed, I tend to feature a lot of R&B, alternative music as well as songs from the 80s and the 90s. Those by far are my favourite music genres. I am a total 80s wild child so sue me and though I receive comments on my MM posts that always seem to state the obvious (my song picks are always usually old songs); you definitely can’t deny the fact that an oldie can be goodie too. I especially love the 80s and if you have awesome music taste like me (yup blowing my own trumpet here), then you’d be in total agreement with yours truly!

Anyway, I recently chanced upon a new music download site, which I am dying to check out because I am in the mood to buy music. Though I already have a lot of songs in my collection, there are still a few missing. For example one of my all-time favourite songs Second Chance by Gabrielle, which is also unavailable on You Tube. Every time I search for this song on YT, it says that the music video/song is unavailable in my country due to copyright reason or something like that.

I don’t mind spending on songs that I really want to have in my collection and if I sign up with this new site, I’ll get cheaper rates. I’ve already done my survey and the song that I am looking for is going for only $0.15, which is mighty cheap if you ask me! You can also download full albums at very low prices so if you’re a music lover searching for some long lost songs like me, you may want to check out the site as well.

It’s almost Wednesday so there is still time for me to join Music Monday – if I can find a great song to my liking that is! See you later!

I'm in Big Trouble!

Tomorrow is my Mom's Birthday Brunch @ PJ Hilton and I still have no outfit for me or a gift for my mom! If you have any great ideas (aside from cash!) on what to get for my mom, pray tell!

Meanwhile, I'll be doing some last-minute shopping for my outfit later today so while waiting for B who's out servicing the car, I am browsing online. Thanks to Shopwiki for leading me to some really great designer stores and beautiful dresses for women. I found plenty of gorgeous dresses and even though I'm currently into lavender, my heart is set on something black or something white for tomorrow. These are my favourites and I hope to find a similar dress at the shopping mall today.

Aptly named as a Sunday Brunch Dress, this soft-knit black dress would be absolutely perfect for tomorrow's brunch. I love that it comes in black as well for you can never go wrong in black!

When one shops, either online or at the mall, one doesn't stop at just one dress. You always need a few in mind just in case you can't find what you're really looking for. So of course I browsed further and fell in love with this gorgeous vacation dress!

Last but not least is this beautiful sun dress, which is a must-have! The fabric colour of Ecru (Beige) is simply stunning and the dress looks really soft and sheer. Plus the floral embroidery is oh-so-pretty! Ultra feminine and sweet, I do love the drawstring waist tie to ensure an adjustable fit as well.

Oh no it just started to rain! I hope all goes well with B and his car so we can get down to some serious birthday shopping before it gets dark outside. Don't forget to leave me your ideas for my mom's birthday gift too, thanks so much!

Makeover Thursday!

My makeover day is here at last! I have not slept all night but what else is new? Since I will be out most of the day, I have already made breakfast for B. It's a public holiday today so he will be resting at home while I visit my hairdresser and brave through another tedious day of hair makeover. Beauty does come with a price and this time it is at the expense of spending the day with B.

Everything seems to be in order and my digital camera is nicely tucked inside my handbag. Remember the Sony Cybershot B got me last year? Well, it's been doing a wonderful job of capturing picture perfect moments for me and I bring it with me everywhere. The hair salon is no exception for you never know when your camera will come in handy!

The other day for instance, we decided to drop by at an old friend's place. It was an impromptu before dinner decision to meet up with some friends we've not seen in ages. Thanks to my camera which is always inside my handbag, I got to capture another awesome picture for my Friends Album, which would make for a wonderful keepsake.

We bloggers do love our cameras right? Everywhere we go, we need to have our camera with us just in case something interesting catches our eye. So even though I'm only heading out for a hair makeover today, I am still bringing my camera with me. I mean, what if B decides to take me out for dinner right after he picks me up from the salon? I'd surely kick myself if I didn't have my camera with me to snap the yummy food we'd be enjoying. I have a food blog now remember so food pictures are a must!

Okay, I really have to start getting ready now. I have absolutely no idea what I'm gonna do to my hair yet so wish me luck!
