Pablo on Catster! *

Guess what? It seems that Pablo is the only one of our four fluffy fur-kids who is not on Catster yet! How sad is that? Bad Master for not taking the time to add Pablo to our Catster family! takbole

It’s never too late to start a Catster page for my youngest fluffy boy however, so all is not lost. And now I’m busy going through my old cat photos to include in Pablo’s page. With so many photos to choose from, I am having a tough time narrowing my choices but so far, here are my picks. ihikhik

I especially like Pablo’s baby pictures. He was such an alien-face of a tiny, playful fluff ball when he first arrived. Which is your favourite Pablo photo? Smiley

Pretty Parrot or Cute Cat?

Before B and I decided to get a pet cat to begin our just-married adventure together, we talked about getting a fish. We wanted a pet we could both share like a lovely pair of goldfish. Fish seemed a tad too common however. Besides, what else can fish do besides swim and look pretty in the water?
fikir

So we thought of birds next. It would be cool to have a parrot especially since they're known for their ability to "talk" by imitating human voices. We would have a lot of fun with a talking parrot and I know many pet stores actually sell these clever birds. Thanks to their sociable and affectionate nature, intelligence, bright colours and ability to imitate human voices, parrots make really popular pets.

Did you know that the domesticated Budgerigar, which is a small parrot, is the most popular of all pet bird species? See how pretty?

What's more, the types of parrot cages available nowadays almost convinced me to run out and immediately get a parrot! Check out this Liberta Two Tier Large Parrot Cage for instance. If I was a pet parrot, this is where I want to live. It's spacious, complete with a Playtop, 3 stainless steel feeding cups in the cage and has 3 swing-out feeding doors. There is also a seed catcher which makes for easy cleaning. tepuktangan
Anyway, we were set on getting a bird as our first pet together but then B told me something, which changed our minds. He mentioned that he's always wanted a cat. As a boy he was not allowed to have a cat at home, so unlike me who already had so many cats previously, he was totally enticed and curious to start feeling and acting like a cat owner, which I thought was adorable! Smiley

And that's how we ended up with three cute cats as our pets. The parrot was a great idea but it wasn't that practical for condo-living couples like us. Plus cats are more affectionate, adorable, self-cleaning, fluffy and they do make wonderful companions. Thank goodness we found Chubbs, Benji and
Phoebe...in that order! Smiley

Cat Wound

The last time Benji was hospitalized, he got both B and me frantic with worry! Besides refusing to eat or drink, he was all wobbly when he walked. He was limping a little too but he wasn't suffering from a minor wound. We were certain of that because we checked him all over for any signs of cuts or bruise but didn't find any. So we put away our
wound cleanser for cats and took him to the neighbourhood Vet instead. Smiley

When Benji still didn't show any signs of recovering, we immediately rushed him to Healing Rooms pet hospital in Subang Jaya for a second opinion. Apparently, Benji was suffering from a type of feline condition with a long weird name, which I can't recall. And if left untreated, he would not have made it another night!
Smiley

See how adorable Benji looked with his neck collar? He's completely healed now of course but ever since that scary incident, we don't take chances with our cats any more. So whether it's a small cut or a hidden wound that our cats might be suffering from, we'd surely take them to the Vet for an immediate check-up. Better be safe than sorry! Smiley

Cho Tai Tee

Do you know how to play Cho Tai Tee? I just found out this popular card game is also known as Hong Kong Poker or Big Two. My friend Dommie taught me how to play this very interesting card game when we were colleagues in NST. We were bored one fine rainy afternoon and decided to
play cards. I immediately caught on and since then, Cho Tai Tee remains as a favourite card game to play whenever we have friends over. Smileys

It's a little similar to the usual poker I also love playing so we do see pair, three of a kind, four of a kind coming into play. The biggest card in this game is 2 and the smallest card is 3 of diamonds. Whoever holds the 3 of diamonds will start the game and the winner is the first player who gets rid of all cards in hand.

The last time my friends and I played Cho Tai Tee, I lost...as usual. My cards were terrible and I could not do much but minimize my loss. Nonetheless it was an awesome night because once you start dealing those cards, it is very hard to stop. We can play for hours on end and usually stops when one of us is too tired or sleepy to continue playing! Smileys

I'm always a little confused when it comes to Poker rules but Hong Kong Poker is easier for me somehow. So I was happy to chance upon PokerOwnage, which is an awesome poker blog, written by die-hard poker fans. They work hard at blogging but they play hard too at bringing players and fans the latest in Online Poker News. Here, you can find out the latest poker updates, hold your own poker talks in the forums and even catch some poker gossip and rumours. I do need a little Poker brush-up before our next card session so PokerOwnage is a great find this hot Friday morning!

Time to Snuggle! **

When Benji was a tiny fuzzy baby, he used to love snuggling with me. Maybe it's because he was really small and helpless so he didn't have a say as to where I placed him whenever I wanted to snuggle. He was also a sick little meow but we got through it fine in the end and now Benji is the fattest, most fluffy of our three cats! gelakguling

He still loves to snuggle but no longer with me! Benji now loves snuggling up to B every night when he comes home from work. All B has to do is call his name and he'll come running like a doggie and jumps on B for an evening snuggle! I get a little jealous every time I see Benji snuggling with B and not me.
merajuk

We love having a fat cat in the house; Benji is such a delight to watch and play with. Whatever he does; he looks adorable, even when sleeping. It's a wet rainy Tuesday here and the weather is perfect for some cuddles. I miss snuggling with my fluffy fur ball so come to Master, Benji!
