I must admit that prior to working and getting married; I never did place importance on insurance. When you're younger and single, you tend to think of only the good things in life and hardly make room for possible misfortunes coming your way. Remember when B had to go for his surgery on New Year's Eve last year? His bill came up to a whopping RM5,000! Fortunately, he is covered by his company and his coverage is pretty extensive so the only thing we had to pay was his room upgrade, which though was only a few hundred RM, still took a pinch on our savings.
B's insurance does not cover me though which is why I have my own insurance policy. And lately, I've been thinking about upgrading it. The thing is, I am also planning to switch to another agent. They say it's better to take insurance from an agent you're familiar with so I'm leaning towards switching to my parent's agent. 
I met my parents' agent the other day when we were shopping in IKEA and he seemed like a friendly guy. Ever-willing to serve his clients wherever they are, this guy drove all the way to IKEA just to collect my Dad's signature on some forms. That shows diligence and will and I for one, am all for that. Anyway, I will talk this over with B first and see what he thinks. That's another thing about being married. You always have to talk, sometimes fight things over with your other half before making any important decision!

Remember the G8 that B got me as a gift? Well, my mom really loved mine when she saw it so I got her a white one for Mother's Day. Last week was my Dad's birthday and after much pondering and worrying, I came up with the perfect gift for him - a new wallet stuffed with cash, which was a big hit! And now, it's my brother's birthday next week so I have to fork out another big amount for his gift, which by the way I have absolutely no idea what to get as of yet!

Today is my Dad's birthday and I still have not the faintest idea on a gift this year! It's hard getting gifts for men so I am still undecided on the best possible gift for my Dad. I would however like to wish him a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may he be blessed with good health and wealth always.

Have you ever gone fishing? And I don't mean one of those indoor fishing outlets where you sit with a snack in hand and pretend to be on a real fishing boat awaiting your first bite. I'm talking about being on a real boat, in the midst of the deep clear water; wind blowing hair in your eyes as you wait for your very first catch on what could be one of your most memorable trips ever. 
Well, I for one have never gone fishing for real. I have been to an indoor fishing centre once but that was years ago and the only thing I remember is that it's located somewhere in Subang. Honestly, it was a pretty boring night for me and my main reason for going was simply to hang out with my other girlfriends because their boyfriends then were suddenly into indoor fishing. Apparently it was the in sport at one point in time.

Whenever we travel abroad, one of the things I look forward to is arriving at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The moment we reach the airport, I'd be on immediate vacation mode; anticipating the wonderful in-flight entertainment on my flight and another exciting adventure with B by my side. We always try to get to the airport early to try secure the best seats on the flight and after checking in our luggage, B and I would go around the airport to browse through all the cool duty-free stores. 
On our last vacation in Japan, we were fortunate to have airport transfer service provided for us upon arrival. So the moment we got through the Immigration Counter, we were greeted by our designated driver from our hotel. There was no need to go out and hail for a cab or figure out directions to our hotel in a strange country. Of course this was all pre-booked and arranged by B's company.
Our weekend getaway in Bandung was a whole different story altogether. That trip was last-minute so I did not put much planning into airport transfer, which I regretted to this day. No offense to my Bandung friends but B and I were a little pissed off for being short-changed by our cab driver who drove us from the airport to the hotel in Bandung. 
We got a cab at the airport to take us to the Grand Preanger Hotel and were told that it would cost us 40,000 Rupiah (Rp). I remembered thinking the price was reasonable but had a complete change of mind when the cab driver short-changed us of 5,000 Rp for this journey. He seemed like a dependable professional guy but this cab driver took us for a ride alright!
Two days later, we left Bandung to head back to KLIA and were upset once again when our cab driver (a different one this time) demanded 100,000 Rp for the ride to the airport instead of the 40,000 Rp initially quoted. So that's twice cheated! Shame on us for not booking proper airport transfer prior to the vacation and shame on the cab drivers there too for taking advantage of tourists! 
That's why we now place emphasis on proper airport transfer for our getaways. I don't mind putting in more effort by arranging for airport transfers now rather than to arrive at our destination on a bad note if we fall victims to irresponsible cab drivers again. For your next vacation, ensure you don't get cheated. Book proper airport transfer from reputable companies like Shuttle Direct. It will save you a whole lot of mental fatigue and strain, trust me!

Did I tell you that B was supposed to go to Los Angeles back in Jan? And I was planning to tag along too! Can you imagine me being in LA after so many years since my last visit? 
One thing for sure, it would have been the ultimate vacation for me but as luck would have it, B had to undergo his recent surgery a few weeks before his scheduled departure. So after much discussion and taking into account his recovery process, which would take at least two weeks, we decided that LA can wait.
The last time B had a work assignment in LA, he had a ball interviewing Zac Efron and the rest of the HSM2 cast and no ... he did NOT get an autograph for me who was left behind then! So I do hope I get to return to LA one fine day. Not just to spot some hot celebs but also to visit the highly-reputed Great Western Forum to catch a Broadway show or an exciting concert there.
